Honors Math 4A/4B and Honors Math 4C/4D together cover a full year’s curriculum for advanced fourth or fifth graders (ages 9–11).

Curriculum
Our expert instructors use Beast Academy as the main math curriculum for Honors Math. Developed by Art of Problem Solving, Beast Academy gives elementary students the problem-solving foundation they need to overcome obstacles in school and in life.
This course covers the Beast Academy 4A, 4B, 4C and 4D Guide and Practice books. View the Alignment Chart to see the Level 4 curriculum standards covered in the book chapters.
Honors Math 4A/4B
Students are introduced to different properties of two-dimensional shapes, symmetry, logic, and probability. Students learn how to master multiplication and division with multi-digit numbers.Honors Math 4C/4D
Students continue to build on foundational skills to develop their mathematical fluency across several topics. Students are introduced to decimals and negative integers, learn how to add and multiply fractions, and expand their understanding of the properties involved. -
Format
Our instructors hold classes virtually, in a small-sized (10-16 students) videoconferencing classroom.

Homework and exams
There are about 1 to 3 hours of homework each week. There are two timed exams in each course — one at the midpoint of the course, and one at the end. The homework and exam both use Beast Academy Online (subscription is included in the tuition for course duration).

Schedule
Each course runs for 18 weeks and offers two timing formats. Both cover the same course material.
- One 105-minute lesson per week, or
- Two 55-minute lessons per week
