Students who complete Honors Math 3A/3B are ready for Honors Math 3C/3D. To determine if your student is ready for this course or others at the Virtual Campus, learn more here.
Our expert instructors use Beast Academy as the main math curriculum for Honors Math. Developed
by Art of Problem Solving, Beast Academy gives elementary students the problem-solving foundation they need to
overcome obstacles in school and in life.
This course covers the Beast Academy 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D Guide and
Practice books. View the Alignment Chart to see the Level 3 curriculum standards covered in the book
Honors Math 3A/3B
Students are introduced to multiplication and how to use the distributive property to simplify calculations. Students also begin to learn how to interpret the mathematics of word problems. Other topics include two-dimensional shapes and their properties.
Honors Math 3C/3D
Students continue to practice interpreting and solving word problems, and develop their higher-order strategic thinking. Students are introduced to fractions and learn division, estimation, and the use of variables in writing equations and solutions.
Our instructors hold classes virtually, in a small-sized (10-16 students) videoconferencing
Homework and exams
There are about 1 to 3 hours of homework each week. There are two timed exams in each course — one at the midpoint of the course, and one at the end. The homework and exam both use Beast Academy Online (subscription is included in the tuition for course duration).
Drop and refund policies
Visit our tuition page to learn more about our drop
and refund policies.
Each course runs for 18 weeks and offers two timing formats. Both cover the same course material.
