Honors Math 3A/3B and Honors Math 3C/3D together cover a full year’s curriculum for advanced third or fourth graders (ages 8–10).

Curriculum
Our expert instructors use Beast Academy as the main math curriculum for Honors Math. Developed by Art of Problem Solving, Beast Academy gives elementary students the problem-solving foundation they need to overcome obstacles in school and in life.

Honors Math 3A/3B
Students are introduced to multiplication and how to use the distributive property to simplify calculations. Students also begin to learn how to interpret the mathematics of word problems. Other topics include two-dimensional shapes and their properties.Honors Math 3C/3D
Students continue to practice interpreting and solving word problems, and develop their higher-order strategic thinking. Students are introduced to fractions and learn division, estimation, and the use of variables in writing equations and solutions. -
Format
Our instructors hold classes virtually, in a small-sized (10-16 students) videoconferencing classroom.

Homework and exams
There are about 1 to 3 hours of homework each week. There are two timed exams in each course — one at the midpoint of the course, and one at the end. The homework and exam both use Beast Academy Online (subscription is included in the tuition for course duration).

Each course runs for 18 weeks and offers two timing formats. Both cover the same course material.
