Honors Math 2A/2B and Honors Math 2C/2D together cover a full year’s curriculum for advanced second or third graders (ages 7-9).
In this level, live instructors emphasize problem-solving strategies to build foundational skills your student will use throughout their math education. Lessons include word problems and engaging puzzles that guide students toward a deep understanding of material.

Curriculum
Our expert instructors use Beast Academy as the main math curriculum for Honors Math. Developed by Art of Problem Solving, Beast Academy gives elementary students the problem-solving foundation they need to overcome obstacles in school and in life.

Honors Math 2A/2B
Students start to expand their understanding of how the number system works, how we name and represent numbers, and how to use place value. Students practice adding and subtracting with multi-digit numbers quickly and accurately. They will also start building critical thinking skills with strategies like estimation, working backward, and picture models.Honors Math 2C/2D
Students further their understanding of the number system and place value. They practice adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers quickly and accurately, and explore properties of different types of numbers, such as evens and odds. -
Format
Our instructors hold classes virtually, in a small-sized (10-14 students) videoconferencing classroom.

Homework and exams
There are about 1 to 3 hours of homework each week. There are two timed exams in each course — one at the midpoint of the course, and one at the end. The homework and exam both use Beast Academy Online (subscription is included in the tuition for course duration).

Schedule
Each course runs for 18 weeks and offers two timing formats. Both cover the same course material.
